Adult party game glossary
New to adult board games? These are the terms you will see in Kinky Agency and across couple and party games — defined plainly, without jargon or judgment.
- Truth or dare
- The classic party format behind Kinky Agency: players alternate between answering revealing questions (truths) and performing challenges (dares). The board game version adds dice, tiles and difficulty levels.
- Private card
- A secret challenge in Kinky Agency drawn on tiles 10 and 30. Only the active player reads it — built for intimate moments even in a group game.
- Difficulty level
- A content filter from soft (playful, funny) through medium (spicy) to hardcore and extreme (explicit, intense). The group agrees on one level before playing.
- Safe word
- A pre-agreed word that instantly pauses the game, no questions asked. Pick something unmistakable like "red panda". See our consent guide for the full system.
- Enthusiastic consent
- A clear, eager yes from every player — the only acceptable basis for spicier difficulties. Hesitation counts as a no: drop one level down.
- Skip
- A built-in rule: any player may pass any card at any time without explanation or penalty. Respecting skips is what keeps the game fun.
- House rules
- Extra agreements a group adds before playing, such as whether skipped cards need replacements or whether new players can join mid-game.
- Icebreaker
- A soft, funny card designed to loosen up a new group. Start every first game with soft difficulty — it is made of icebreakers.
- Aftercare
- Borrowed from kink culture: ending the night well with compliments, check-ins and a next-day message, especially with new groups.
- Game night
- A planned evening of board or party games. For adult games: dim lights, phones away, snacks ready, difficulty agreed, safe word set.
- Couple game
- A game designed for two romantic partners — head-to-head challenges, questions that spark conversation, and dares that build intimacy.
- Party game
- A game for 4+ players optimized for laughter and energy: quick turns, funny outcomes, and rules simple enough to explain in one minute.
- Drinking game (optional rules)
- Any party game with optional sip-based stakes. Only ever with consenting adults drinking responsibly — water rounds count, and sitting out is always fine.
- PWA (installable web app)
- A website that installs like an app. Kinky Agency works as a PWA: add it to your home screen from the browser, no app store needed.
